Charles Crompton was born in 1892 Lancashire, England, to William Crompton and Sarah Bennison-Crompton. The UK general election was held from 4 July – 26 that year. It saw the Conservatives, led by Lord Salisbury, win the greatest number of seats, but not enough for an overall majority as William Ewart Gladstone's Liberals won.

Charles married Annie Teague, and the two had at least one child, a daughter. It is unknown when the two died or where they are buried.
